Marisa Loza (maiden name: Gonzalez-Magdaleno) was born and raised in El Llano, Michoacan, Mexico. She is the third child of seven, two older brothers and four younger sisters. The family migrated to Napa Valley in 1991 where they have established and embraced a new culture. Marisa graduated from Napa Valley College with a degree in Business Administration specializing in Finance and Accounting. While studying in the business field, she worked in the Immigration field, gaining at the same time knowledge and experience on both.
After opening her business as an Immigration Consultant in 2006, she decided to give back to her community by getting involved in different non-profit organizations like Latinos Unidos del Valley de Napa y Solano, the Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Democrats of Napa Valley Central Committee. Her passion is to promote her heritage and culture, to defend human rights and to contribute to the growth for economics in her community.
Marisa’s favorite quote is from Anna Julia Cooper “The cause of freedom is not the cause of a race or a sect, a party or a class- is the cause of humankind. The very birthright of humanity.” She identifies with her and describes her role as a Latina woman, her personal and global responsibility and the respect for diversity and our planet.
